3. Data Storage and Security
3.1 Local Storage
- Your habit data is stored locally on your device in an SQLite database.
- The local database is stored in your device’s internal app storage, which is protected by Android’s app sandboxing security model.
- We do not have access to your locally stored data.
- Local data remains on your device until you manually delete individual habits or uninstall the App.
3.2 Cloud Storage (Optional)
- If you enable Google Drive Sync, your habit data is backed up to your personal Google Drive account.
- The backup file is stored in your own Google Drive storage space, not on our servers.
- The backup data is not encrypted during storage on Google Drive, but is transmitted over secure HTTPS connections.
- We do not have access to your Google Drive data.
- You can delete your backed-up data from Google Drive at any time through your Google Drive interface.
3.3 Firebase Services
- We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect anonymous crash reports and performance data.
- No personally identifiable information is collected through Firebase.
- Firebase data is stored on secure Google Cloud servers and is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.
3.4 Data Security Measures
- We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data.
- All data transmission between the App and Google services is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS protocols.
- Your local data is protected by Android’s built-in app sandboxing, which prevents other apps from accessing your HabitGlow data.
- We do not store your password or payment information.
3.5 Data Security Limitations
- Local storage is not encrypted: Your habit data stored locally on your device is not separately encrypted beyond Android’s standard app storage protections. If your device is compromised or accessed by unauthorized users, your habit data may be accessible.
- Google Drive backup is not encrypted: Backup files stored in your Google Drive are not encrypted by our App. They rely on Google Drive’s security measures.
- Device Security: We recommend keeping your device secure with a lock screen password, PIN, or biometric authentication.
4. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do NOT sell, trade, or rent your personal data to third parties.
We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:
- With Your Consent: If you explicitly authorize us to share your data.
- Service Providers: With trusted third-party service providers (Google Firebase, Google Drive API) solely for providing App functionality. These providers are bound by strict confidentiality agreements.
- Legal Requirements: If required by law, court order, or government regulation, or to protect our legal rights.
5. Your Rights and Choices
You have the following rights regarding your data:
- Access: You can view all your habit data within the App.
- Modification: You can edit individual habits at any time through the App interface.
- Deletion: You can delete individual habits one by one within the App. To delete all data, you must uninstall the App, which will remove all locally stored data from your device.
- Cloud Sync Control: You can enable or disable Google Drive sync at any time through the App settings. You can delete your backed-up data directly from your Google Drive at any time.
- Opt-Out of Analytics: You can disable Firebase Analytics (if implemented) through your device’s app settings or by disabling app permissions.
